Dana Canedy
Sr. New York Times Editor and Author
DANA CANEDY is a senior editor for the New York Times. In 2001 she was part of a team that won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting. Raised near Fort Knox, she now lives in New York City. Her son, Jordan, is 4 years old.
A Journal for Jordan is truly a bittersweet love story of Dana sharing the loss of her fiance and father of her 4 month old son Jordan. Sgt. Charles Monroe King and Dana were due to marry after Charles returned home and retire from a lifetime career as a military man. Charles was able to meet Jordan for two weeks. He returned to Iraq to complete his tour and was due to return in a month and was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq. The story came about because Dana had given him a journal to write in, which she had no idea he was writing in each and every night. Charles mailed the journal home early and completed, over 200 pages which ended up being a guide to raising Jordan should she have to do it alone.

Nancy Turner Banks, M.D.
Harvard Doctor Exposes The Scam Behind The HIV/AIDS Industry!
AIDS, Opium, Diamonds and Empire tells the dramatic story of a financial ideology that is damaging to everything that it means to be human. It is the story of profits over people. In the end, it is the story of hope and how we can regain our sanity and health in a world gone wild.
AIDS, Opium, Diamonds and Empire draws the connections between free market strategies, the destruction of national sovereignty by the process of globalization, and AIDS as one of the health consequences of this pathological philosophy.
Through meticulous research, Dr. Banks uncovered the medical-pharmaceutical-industrial complex that was taken over one hundred years ago by the titans of financial capitalism. Their aim was to create profit, not to conquer disease. This book of social history points to a cauldron of events that contributed to the HIV/AIDS crisis. Visit www.Nancybanks.us

Green Wedding shows there are smart alternatives — products and services as well as planning decisions — that can reduce environmental harm while ensuring a joyous, memorable and stylish celebration.
Because environmental responsibility isn’t just a one-day affair, the book includes chapters on ecotourism honeymoons and on living green throughout married life.

Actor, Brandon Ruckdashel
Brandon stars in “Changing The Game,” a new feature film directed by Rel Dowdell currently in production. “Changing The Game” is the gripping story of two childhood friends from a gritty North Philadelphia neighborhood who choose divergent life paths but find themselves facing the same risks and, quite possibly, the same ending.
Brandon made his professional stage debut as the lead in the hit play Ascension. Ascension opened to rave reviews in the New York papers and sold out houses.
Anita Gates in the New York Times wrote "the 23-year-old Mr. Ruckdashel is making his Off Broadway debut and it is a stunning one. This is partly because he has the intense blond good looks of a young Brad Pitt with a soupcon of James Dean."
Elyse Sommer in Curtain Up called him “a young Leonardo DiCaprio” and Ellis Nassour said “Brandon Ruckdashel raises the temperature to red hot.”
On television he is currently the lead in the HBO/Cinemax series Coed Confidential and in a spin-off feature Cougar Confidential as well in the television feature Inside. Brandon also has played recurring guest star roles in the Here Network series The Lair and in the HBO/Cinemax series Life On Top as well as in the Jerry Zucker pilot National Debt.
On film Brandon played Virgil, a naïve young man caught in the decadent 1920’s Parisian demimonde, in the independent feature Virgil and will play Marty, a Wall Street manipulator, in the feature Changing The Game that begins production in Philadelphia.
In addition to film and television, Brandon has continued his stage work. In Los Angeles he played Chip in the 1980’s musical The Next Big Thing and Twist in the Drama Desk Award nominated Twist. In New York he starred in George Carr's A Body Without A Head, based on the work of former Calvin Klein Creative Director Zack Carr.
Also on stage, Brandon recently was the lead in Alexander Pushkin’s Little Tragedies at the Mikhail Baryshnikov Theater and recently played Josh, the surrogate son of a gay couple, in All That Might Happen.

Rivers Last Longer
By Richard Burgin
Sometimes your best friend can turn out to be the most dangerous person you know.
As teenagers in Brookline Massachusetts, Barry and Elliot were best friends sharing their passions for sports, music, movies and girls, as well as their dreams of literary fame. Years later, when it appears Barry’s mother will become wealthy from a court ruling, the friends start planning a literary magazine to jumpstart their careers, only to bitterly fight once the inheritance finally arrives. For six years they don’t see or speak to each other.
When the friends finally reunite in New York, Elliot is a struggling writer with a dead end teaching job in Philadelphia and Barry is a millionaire. He offers Elliot a free apartment, and the friends decide to finally create the magazine they had long envisioned. But Barry has a terrible secret and a terrifying double life that threatens to destroy not only their magazine but the woman they both fall in love with.
At once a highly suspenseful psychological thriller and an ambitious literary work masterfully told from multiple points of view by five-time Pushcart Prize winning author, Richard Burgin, Rivers Last Longer takes its turns, sometimes satirically, through the New York literary, art and film worlds as it tells its story of friendship, ambition, murder and love.
About The AuthorRichard Burgin

In France, where a Richard Burgin reader will soon be published, he was the subject of an article last month called “The King of Beautiful Dread” in the prestigious magazine Transfuge, which said, “His fiction is astonishing. Richard Burgin, more than just about any American fiction writer, probes deep into the American psyche.” His other books include Conversations with Jorge Luis Borges and Conversations with Isaac Bashevis Singer. Now, in his second novel, Rivers Last Longer, Burgin offers us his most compelling, witty and poignant book yet.

“When the game changes, so does everything you thought you had seen!” “Changing The Game,” based on the screenplay by award-winning director Rel Dowdell, is the gripping story of two childhood friends from a gritty North Philadelphia neighborhood who choose divergent life paths but find themselves facing the same risks and, quite possibly, the same ending. Darrell Barnes is a gifted student reared by his devoutly religious grandmother who wins a scholarship to Columbia University. Dre Newell is a street-wise hustler guided by the tactics of Niccolo Machiavelli who has put together a crew of teen-age drug dealers. Dre tries to introduce Darrell to his Machiavellian ways, giving him a dog-eared copy of the Italian philosopher’s book “The Prince.’’ But soon after “Dre” is blown up as he starts his car, leaving Darrell to ponder the lessons his friend hoped to impart. Armed with an MBA from Columbia, Darrell is recruited by a leading investment house and becomes one of Wall Street’s most charismatic and powerful young players. But a corporate scandal, a corrupt ex-roommate, and a mysterious banker with a unique business service threaten to end his career and possibly his life. On a trip home to Philadelphia, Darrell recalls the words of his late friend. Taking a page from Machiavelli, he conceives a plan to “evade one’s enemies and gain power” that triggers a climax as explosive as it is unexpected. When the game changes, so does everything you thought you had seen. *** Yet again, Dowdell has assembled an enviable cast and written what is sure to be a critically-acclaimed, box office hit! Among his many other credits, Dowdell wrote and directed the number one African-American themed film in 2005 for Sony Pictures, “Train Ride” which grossed over $20 million in revenues. Philly First Entertainment will begin filming “Changing the Game” in April 2010 in Philadelphia. The project has already gained recognition from the Greater Philadelphia Film Office (GPFO.)
“Changing The Game” will keep you on the edge of your seat with its suspenseful and chilling dialogue. It is sure to be a universally satisfying must see film for 2010!

"Revealing, infuriating, heartbreaking, and occasionally incendiary, My Times in Black and White is always informative, instructive, and insightful. This often-wrenching book is both a passionate cautionary tale and an incitement to excellence, fairness, and honesty, journalistic and otherwise."
—Jill Nelson, author, Volunteer Slavery
"I knew Gerald Boyd as a fair boss, a fine man, and a serious journalist. His honest, deeply affecting, and revealing memoir has made me realize (to my great regret) how much of him I didn't know."
